Munchie Math for Geometry

The Grade Primary/One mathematicians used marshmallows and toothpicks to build a variety of 2-dimensional shapes and 3-dimensional figures. We started with 2-D shapes like triangles, squares, pentagons, trapezoids and octagons and then moved onto 3-D figures like cubes, rectangular prisms and pyramids. During the free time portion at the end of the lesson, the students constructed 2-D and 3-D objects which were combinations of the shapes we learned about or completely new creations from their fertile imagination.
